Composer, Founder and Creative Director, Streaming Museum, NYC
Nina followed an unexpected path after earning her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied classical piano and composition, and later pursued postgraduate film studies. Early on, she was an award-winning composer of music for film, TV and theater created in her electronic music studio.
In 2008, Nina founded Streaming Museum, a global public art experiment that used the expanding internet, mobile and screen culture to present international art and innovative ideas. With hundreds of collaborators and artists, the museum’s exhibitions reached audiences across all seven continents, in public spaces, cultural centers, publications and online.
Nina’s vision for Streaming Museum extended into her writings for publications, and the co-production of the A View from the Cloud conferences which aimed to sharpen how we perceive the world, and innovations that support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Within a setting of art, the initiative brought together the general public, artists, scientists, astronauts, AI experts, and global economists and other experts to discuss their work through the lens of interconnectedness. The concept extended into her co-production of Centerpoint Now, a publication marking the UN’s 75th anniversary.
In 2020, Nina returned to her roots in composition, drawing on the global themes she has explored throughout her career. Recent projects include music for an immersive Afrofuturist garden at Lincoln Center, created for the android Bina48. She continues to compose across genres and create music videos that explore the connections between humanity, nature, AI, and quantum technologies.
